Yoga 60 - Sunday Jan 14 2018
Today’s class was with Susan; and it was packed full of people. I think they ran out of space. Luckily I squeezed in quickly.
One thing Susan had on focus on was our breath (Ujjayi breathing). I felt quite connected with my breath this class. Particularly when she had us do Sun B’s based on each others breath as cues rather than the instructor cue the poses. This is can be challenging for me because I feel like my breath is faster or slower depending on the day. However, today it was easier because there was so many people in the class and you can really hear the entire class’ breath. Therefore, I really enjoyed the class.
She had us do core twice which is great because I really want to strength my core for handstandings.
We started with crunches in supta followed by feet pressed into the ground, legs raised parallel to the floor and then legs raised to the ceiling. Immediately, afterwards we proceeded to do bicycles. There was about 10 reps per segment.
We were told to go into supta afterwards and she asked softly whether we should do it again. I think she spoke directly to me because I doubt that the remainder of the class would have heard her. However, I was taken back because when she said if we should do it again, I thought she was just referring to supta and not the entire core series again!
So, I got a good core workout today. s
